1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using the Life Maintenance website at lifemaintenance.io or the Life Maintenance mobile application (together, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Life Maintenance (“Life Maintenance”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by email and/or by posting a notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if:
- You are at least 13 years of age.
- If you are between 13 and 18, you have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
- You are not prohibited from receiving services under applicable law (for example, you are not on a government sanctions list).
- You are using the Service for personal, household, or family maintenance tracking purposes, and not on behalf of a business unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Your account
Creating an account
You may sign up with an email address and password, or with your Google account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date.
Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@lifemaintenance.io if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.
One account per person
You may not create or use more than one account for the same household without our prior written consent. You may not transfer your account to another person.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Free and paid plans
Life Maintenance offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. Features available on each plan are described on the pricing page. We may change plan features or pricing at any time; we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before any change that increases the price of your current plan.
Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on the plan you choose. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. All payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing in the app, or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods, except where required by law.
Refunds
If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days at support@lifemaintenance.io and we will review your request. Refunds are provided at our discretion, except where required by applicable consumer protection law.
Taxes
Prices shown may not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose. You must not:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or our backend systems.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Service using automated means without our prior written consent.
- Upload or transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure.
- Sell, resell, or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, without notice, at our sole discretion.
6. Your content
Ownership
You retain ownership of all data you enter into the Service, including item details, maintenance records, notes, and any other content you create (“Your Content”).
License to us
By using the Service, you grant Life Maintenance a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide and improve the Service. We do not claim any other rights over Your Content.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for Your Content. You represent and warrant that you have the right to provide Your Content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.
Exporting your data
You may request an export of Your Content at any time by emailing privacy@lifemaintenance.io. We will provide it in a machine-readable format (JSON or CSV) within a reasonable time.
7. Intellectual property
The Service and all of its components, including but not limited to software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the Life Maintenance name and marks, are owned by or licensed to Life Maintenance and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service or our intellectual property, other than the limited right to use the Service as described herein.
8. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers including Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Expo, and Google. Your use of features powered by those providers is also subject to their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Life Maintenance disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- Maintenance schedules generated by the Service are accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific situation. Always consult qualified professionals (mechanics, plumbers, veterinarians, etc.) for safety-critical decisions.
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected.
Health and Prescription Data Disclaimer
Life Maintenance is not a medical application, pharmacy, or healthcare provider. The prescription and health tracking features are organizational tools only. Life Maintenance does not:
- Provide drug interaction warnings, dosage recommendations, or medical advice.
- Replace consultation with your doctor, pharmacist, or healthcare provider.
- Guarantee the accuracy of medication reminders or refill calculations.
- Transmit prescriptions or communicate with pharmacies on your behalf.
You are solely responsible for verifying all medication information and consulting qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions. Do not rely on Life Maintenance for time-critical medical needs.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Life Maintenance and its officers, employees, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Life Maintenance and its officers, employees, and licensors from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your use of the Service; (b) Your Content; or (c) your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
12. Termination
By you
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion of your account terminates these Terms, except for provisions that by their nature survive termination (see Section 14).
By us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account is inactive for more than 24 consecutive months, or if we cease to offer the Service. We will endeavour to give you reasonable notice before termination where practical, except in cases of serious violation.
Effect of termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, except that either party may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify.
Class action waiver: You agree that any arbitration or court proceeding will be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may also have the right to bring a claim before your local courts or an online dispute resolution platform designated by your relevant authority.
Before initiating any formal dispute, we ask that you first contact us at support@lifemaintenance.io to try to resolve the issue informally. We will make a good-faith effort to respond within 5 business days.
14. Survival
The following sections survive termination of these Terms: Section 6 (Your Content), Section 7 (Intellectual Property), Section 9 (Disclaimers), Section 10 (Limitation of Liability), Section 11 (Indemnification), Section 13 (Governing Law and Disputes), and this Section 14.
15. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Life Maintenance regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights freely.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for failures or delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, internet outages, or third-party service failures.
