Billing and plans

Life Maintenance has three plans. There is a free tier that never expires, a Pro tier for individuals, and a Family tier for households. You can try Pro or Family free for 14 days and downgrade any time.

Starting a trial

Both Pro and Family offer a 14-day free trial. No card is taken upfront for the trial. You can start one at Billing.

On day 14 we will email you a reminder. If you do nothing, the trial ends and you drop to Free; items and schedules above the Free limits are preserved but read-only until you upgrade.

Upgrading

From Billing, click Upgrade. We use Stripe for payments and accept all major credit cards plus Apple Pay and Google Pay in supported browsers.

Choose monthly or annual. The first charge is prorated for the partial month you started in.

Switching plans

You can switch between Pro and Family any time:

  • Pro to Family. Charged the difference, prorated for the current period.
  • Family to Pro. Family-only features (kiosk, SMS) disable at the end of the current period. Other family members lose access at the same time.
  • Either to Free. Takes effect at the end of the current period. Photos and history are preserved.

We never bill a downgrade fee or charge cancellation costs.

Canceling

Open Billing and click Manage subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, not immediately. You keep paid features until then.

After cancellation:

  • Your account drops to Free.
  • Items beyond the Free limit are kept but read-only. Upgrade again and they unlock.
  • Photos remain in storage; you may exceed the Free storage cap but we will not delete anything for at least 90 days.
  • Family members keep their accounts but lose access to your shared household.

We do not refund partial months.

Refunds

If something went wrong (you were charged after canceling, or you forgot to cancel before a trial ended), contact support. We are reasonable about refunds and will work it out.

App Store subscriptions

If you started on iOS, your subscription is billed by Apple, not by us. You manage it in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, not on our website.

  • Canceling on Apple stops the renewal.
  • Refunds go through Apple's policy, not ours.
  • We cannot see your Apple card or upgrade your Apple subscription. Apple holds the keys.

If you want to switch from App Store billing to web billing (often cheaper), cancel through Apple, wait for the current period to end, then re-subscribe via Billing.

Changing payment method

From Billing, under Payment method, click Update card. Stripe's secure form opens. We never see or store your card number.

Invoices and receipts

Every charge generates a receipt that is emailed to your account email. You can also download all past invoices as PDFs from Billing → Invoice history.

Promo codes

If you have a promo code, enter it on the upgrade page before confirming. We will show the adjusted price before charging.
